Preschool
We believe that each child is a gift from God. In the Preschool Ministry.
We strive to guide each child toward his/her special God given talents.
The Preschool will provide a cheerful and educational preschool experience for children toddler age and older.
The children participate in free exploration of play centers and materials, as well as planned group and individual activities. Art, music, Spanish, dramatic play, literature, science and discovery, hands-on-math, creative cooking and outdoor recreations are all part of the curriculum. All activities are based on developmentally appropriate practices of Early Childhood Education.
The Preschool teachers and staff strive to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in their thoughts, words and deeds. Daily prayer, Bible stories and Christian songs are part of the curriculum. The older children visit the Chapel once a week to learn more about God’s love expressed through Jesus Christ.

Letter from our Director
Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for your potential interest in St. Michael’s Preschool. Our school opened in 1995 with only 8 students. Today we minister to over 86 students and 76 families throughout College Park and Orlando. We are so thankful for how God has and continues to bless our Preschool here at St. Michael’s Church.
Each day, our devoted teachers pour their love for teaching and God into the hearts and minds of our students. It is our desire to daily “Grow Little Hearts & Mind’s in God’s Love.”
We believe in developing the whole child not only through a set curriculum but also through a “play based” approach. Our curriculum, Handwriting WithOut Tears addresses the language, literacy, handwriting, reading and math components of our curriculum. In addition, we incorporate science, which includes sensory and discovery experiences both inside and outside the classroom and a spiritual curriculum which is based on Preschooler’s and The Children’s Bible. In the Fall & Spring assessments are completed to be sure the children are achieving the desired skills that are broken and taught monthly.
In addition, we have introduced Becky Bailey’s “Conscious Discipline” throughout our school. We have incorporated this social and emotional component throughout our day as well. “Conscious Discipline” is a brain-based approach to help the child grow daily in an environment that ensures the child feels safe and loved to be able to reach an executive, cooperative state which is the most effective way children learn. We provide several opportunities throughout our children’s day to connect with them one-on-one and help to validate how important they are to us.
We see our school as a “school family” and work on helping the children feel this throughout not only their day but also “branch” out to help our families feel this way as well. We have several events through the year where we provide opportunities for our families to come together to socialize together and help grown relationships outside the classroom.
I would love to personally share more with you about how you can become part of our school family. Please contact me so that we can meet and I can share more with you about what amazing growth takes place on our campus each day.
Blessings to you and your precious family,
Mrs. Melanie Olivier
