Sacramental Events

“Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 298).

St. Michael’s welcomes new members into the family of Christ through the Rite of Holy Baptism. Baptisms are performed for parishioners of all ages. The Book of Common Prayer suggests that the following days are most appropriate for Baptisms: the Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost, All Saint’s Day (or the Sunday following), and the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the First Sunday after the Epiphany). Educational meetings are held prior to the baptismal service for the baptismal candidates and sponsors (for infants and young children that cannot speak for themselves).

If you are interested in receiving this sacrament, please contact the church office or click here for more information on the Rite of Holy Baptism.
