The Rev. Rick Luoni
Imagine a love that’s wild, relentless, and impossible to lose.
That’s how God pursues you.
For Fr. Rick Luoni, faith is not just about religion or showing up on Sundays. It’s about discovering a God who meets you in the grit and grace of real life—bringing hope when you’re weary, promise when you’re uncertain, and love that can change you from the inside out. St. Michael’s, he believes, is a place where we can encounter the beauty of Christ together… and slowly become who God dreamed us to be.Fr. Rick didn’t grow up in church. He found faith in college—and with it, a calling to reach people who’ve been hurt, disillusioned, or left cold by religion. That’s why you’ll often hear him say:
“You are loved with a love you didn’t earn—and therefore, can never lose.”Before becoming a priest, he spent years as a business executive in advertising, marketing, and television, working from Charlotte to San Francisco. But the deeper call of God led him into ministry. Since earning his Master of Divinity in 2005, he’s served in congregations, prison ministry, addiction recovery, and leadership training throughout the Episcopal Church. When he’s not at St. Michaels, you’ll likely find him spending time with his wife Katrena dreaming of their next Italian vacation, or on the mats at Gracie Barra in North Orlando, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—a lifelong passion that keeps him young.
